James is an experienced professional with a master’s degree in chemical engineering. He began his career in the UK in the energy sector optimising process operations. Since then, he has worked in project management, engineering, leadership and project controls roles, including scheduling, cost and risk management.

His recent work includes several transport and health projects in New Zealand, providing project controls, commercial services and advice and governance support. His experience covers projects at all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation and business case through to handover and commissioning. Prior to moving to New Zealand, James worked in Australia in the utilities and energy sector, where he was involved in developing project cost estimates and schedules for multi-billion-dollar business cases, project controls, contract management of subsea construction works and technical assessments of project viability. James uses his analytical skills and critical thinking to provide valuable insights for the client. He is adept at understanding the client’s position, ensuring his advice holistically addresses their concerns.
