Our Ethos

At Frequency, we have a deep connection to New Zealand, our culture, and our land. This connection drives our commitment to the sustainable development of our nation’s infrastructure. It provides the foundation for how we live; from renewable power generation, public and mass transport systems, high quality teaching and learning environments, to sustainable and healthy housing.

Responsible Business

Responsible Business – Inclusive, Connected

We take seriously our mission to make a positive social impact in Aotearoa New Zealand. We believe in the concept of doing well, by doing good. We do this by being conscious and responsible throughout our business operations and decision-making processes and actively work alongside businesses that align with our cultural and environmental values.

Our people are the heart of Frequency. Our strength lies within the broad range of backgrounds, perspectives, experience, and expertise our people hold. They’re the reason why we continue to grow. Leading with inclusion brings our work to the next level and at Frequency we do this through promoting a workplace culture that empowers and inspires.

Te Reo

We are on a journey to better understand and practice te reo Māori. We recognise we have a part to play in preserving te reo Māori and are committed to increasing our understanding and use. Learning your own language, whether that’s one you’re related to through whakapapa, or one you feel a connection with, makes you walk a little prouder, and stand a little bit taller. Its a beautiful thing.

It’s what makes us distinctive. It defines the landscape and therefore defines us as a people. Te reo should be embraced in that manner, as part of the identity of all New Zealanders.

New Zealand Inc

Aotearoa is at the core of Frequency’s purpose. We are proud Kiwi’s and the ability to be part of our nation building is at the essence of our people, brand and values. We are owned by our employees, are passionate about our industry, and play a long game, we don’t take shortcuts.

Health and Safety

Frequency understands health and safety is a culture first and foremost and we are committed to providing safe working environments, from our Frequency offices to the sites we work on. We are a certified member of Site Safe and require all our team to hold Site Safe Passports. As well, Frequency currently hold a 4-Star PreQual safety certification.

Volleyball New Zealand Sponsorship

Frequency is a proud sponsor of Volleyball New Zealand and over the past two years have been excited to see how the sport has grown, with the Frequency Regional Training Centres (RTCs) able to offer a strong development pathway with quality coaching and athlete development.

The Frequency RTCs were created to give athletes more training time with and against each other, creating a high-quality competitive training environment in which athletes would grow their understanding of performance. The RTCs also serve to eliminate some of the cost associated with volleyball training by creating regional training hubs which are more accessible to many of the athletes.

An endeavour which echoes our core values of teamwork, agility, understanding, and leadership, Frequency are delighted to be able to support youth right across the country by sponsoring the Regional Training Centres. Volleyball is now the 4th largest secondary school sport in New Zealand, having had a 26% growth rate in the past year to reach over 22,000 young people.

Women in Engineering (WEN) Sponsorship

Frequency has recently become a Gold Sponsor of the University of Auckland’s Women in Engineering programme, supporting increased gender diversity in an industry that is male dominated. Several of our Associates recently attended a Q&A panel (see news story) to share their expertise with graduates on what it is like to work in Engineering and share tips for entering and succeeding in the industry. Through this programme we are looking to increase diversity within our team. Our Graduate Programme currently comprises a 60% female contingent.
