Tom is a civil engineer and construction professional with more than 25 years of experience leading projects. His skills include civil and structural engineering design, design management and project management. He has worked in the building, rail and aviation sectors.
Based in Christchurch, Tom has consulted to Greymouth District Council on their capital works programme and establishment of a Programme Management Office. He has supported the Ministry of Education as Engineer to Contract across several school projects and provided project management support to Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities. Tom has provided Procurement Advisory services to Tauranga City Council, KiwiRail and the Asian Development Bank. Tom has also led internal training for Asian Development Bank on Health and Safety considerations in Procurement. Previously in the UK, he held leadership roles in a transformation programme for the three airports owned by the Manchester Airports Group. He has sound governance, strategy and executive leadership experience.
Stakeholder management and influencing come naturally to Tom, whose excellent communication and critical thinking skills regularly see him running client and supplier forums. Tom brings a passionate collaborative approach to any project.
