Construction Pathways in schools

As part of our Construction Pathways in Schools programme, Frequency was delighted to host a group of Year 13 students from Mt Albert Grammar School to our Auckland office and combine this with a unique opportunity to visit the Maungawhau station as part of Auckland’s City Rail Link Ltd project. The students donned high vis jackets and hard hats for a behind-the-scenes tour of a section of Aotearoa’s largest infrastructure project. They learned about construction, health and safety, project management, and engineering careers, while asking questions and taking photos.

Danny Liuliu-Afoa, Mt Albert Grammar Pasifika Liaison, shared, “This was a fantastic opportunity and so important for our students in providing an understanding of construction practices in an interactive learning environment, giving them real-world experience to support their career pathway decisions.”

Our long-standing association with the City Rail Link project dates back to Auckland Transport days and through to the stand up of City Rail Link Ltd, where we provided programme controls and property acquisition services, as well as project managing the establishment of City Rail Link Limited as a special purpose vehicle. This mega project will bring enormous benefits to many communities along the western line with more frequent train services and faster travel times to the city.
