The New Zealand Upgrade Project includes $385m for the P2P project to extend electric trains from Papakura to Pukekohe. The electric trains will replace a diesel shuttle service that operated between the stations, bringing greater reliability and frequency to metro services from Pukekohe. The project also includes a complete rebuild of Pukekohe station, installation of new cross overs, a new signalling system, and major track work.
Frequency has lead several work packages including design management, delivery interface management, and the Pukekohe station redevelopment.
