Client: Talley's Limited Location: Wellington Service Line: Project Management Delivery Team: Steve Wickham
Frequency was initially engaged to undertake a review of the Talley’s Longburn site in Palmerston North and address several legacy issues attaching to the site and the potential for value maximisation and realisation. As a result of the work completed at these early stages, Frequency was engaged to manage the significant demolition and civil works required to enable the land to be used more effectively. Frequency led a team of highly skilled contractors in systematically and safely removing the abandoned meat processing plant, 25m chimney stack and associated support buildings. This was all done whilst staging the decommission of old services and removal of asbestos. The civil works were spread over twenty neighbouring properties, meaning stakeholder engagement was key. The works were completed successfully and all the civils vested back to the council leaving the client with a site that could be used for its future plans.
