Project Controls - Planning & Scheduling
Steven’s expertise is in managing the Programme Controls functions in complex, time critical construction projects.
Steven began his career in a practical construction role 30 years ago, moving into team and project management, and has spent the last 14 years specialising in the programme controls discipline. He has both a Diploma in Project Management, and a commercial NQF Level 6 Marketing and Management Diploma.
Steven’s career spans industries such as retail franchising fit outs, mining, automotive electronics, oil and gas, rail and airports. His experience has seen him working for global project services companies, including Sasol, Vopak, Chevron, Flour, Tesla, Lotus, Bentley, Toyota and Volkswagen. Steven has worked on large and technically complex projects, in consulting engineering practices as well as in production planning and management for major automotive suppliers. He has practical delivery experience, managing a new store rollout for a major retail brand as a project manager.
Additionally, Steven has longstanding experience taking the complex outputs of the Programme Controls function and translating them into simple visual terms for Senior Management communication, including the development of Project-on-a-Page Dashboards, slippage analysis, and earned value cost forecasting. For Steven, Project Controls is the building block of the quality, cost, and time triangle. His understanding of integrating the project planning tools (MSP/P6/CCS) with BIM is an added advantage.
