James is the newest addition to our Auckland team, currently seconded to Auckland Transport’s (AT) Project Management Office (PMO), working across a portfolio of projects assisting with the reporting, programming and project controls.

James is an experienced professional with a Master’s Degree in Process / Chemical Engineering. During his career, he has worked in the UK and Australia in project management, process engineering and leadership roles. Working on projects throughout the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through to execution and operation. He also has experience in troubleshooting and optimising operational assets.
Recently James was Lead Project Controls Advisor for the Chevron Wheatstone LNG Project in Perth, Australia. His responsibilities encompassed the building, maintaining and reporting on project schedules, spend profiles, risks, opportunities and implementing the management of change process. The project scope was complex as it included micro-tunneling, subsea pipelay and stabilisation, offshore platform installation and commissioning.
In prior roles for Shell, James managed the cost, schedule and business case for a multi-billion dollar projects. Earlier in his career, whilst working in the UK, he worked in project management roles on a portfolio of upgrade projects ranging in size and complexity at the Fawley Oil Refinery.
James is also experienced across a range of project management software packages including MS Project and Primavera and has worked within SAP and cost management databases and systems. These skills are combined with experience in the Microsoft Office suite and with expert level Excel skill to assist James to be highly skilled in Project Controls and Project Management.
